4) A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2010
Several people are hunted by a cruel serial killer who kills his victims in their dreams. When the survivors are trying to find the reason for being chosen, the murderer won't lose any chance to kill them as soon as they fall asleep.
5) IT
Based on the idea of a creepy clown who lures children away from safety, after which they are never seen again, this movie might explain why so many people suffer from a fear of clowns.
The classic opening scene depicts a small boy being coaxed towards a sewer drain by “Pennywise the Dancing Clown” who promises him gifts and treats.
After brutally killing the boy in front of his brother, the evil clown then turns his attention to the rest of the town’s children. The children form a group known as “The Losers Club” which is a reference to their position as social outcasts. They make a pact to destroy the clown and free themselves of his evil torments.

6) THE SHINING (US) 1980
Film critics have called it the best horror movie ever made. Stanley Kubrik's masterpiece is one hell of a ride through hauntingly beautiful cinematography, stellar performances and sound effects that'll make you cover your ears. The slow pace of the film adds to the horror. Jack Nicholson as the writer/hotel keeper who loses his mind, screaming "Daddy's home!" has been called one of the most iconic film scenes ever.
7) THE CONJURING (US) 2013
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.
The worst thing one can do is tell you that a movie as frightening as this is based on true events. It just makes the whole experience of sitting through it uncomfortably real. The recreation of the ghastly things that one family went through when they moved to this haunted mansion will make you scream in horror. And for a long time, you'll be scared every time someone claps.

An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.
9) THE EXORICISM OF EMILY ROSE

A lawyer takes on a negligent homicide case involving a priest who performed an exorcism on a young girl
When a younger girl called Emily Rose dies, everyone puts blame on the exorcism which was performed on her by Father Moore prior to her death. The priest is arrested on suspicion of murder. The trail begins with lawyer Erin Bruner representing Moore, but it is not going to be easy, as no one wants to believe what Father Moore says is true.
10) ROSEMARY'S BABY (US) 1968
A pregnant woman's life turns upside down when everyone around her, including her husband, is up to something sinister involving her unborn child. Based on a best-selling novel by Ira Levin, this film is oddly charming.
